Office of the Superintendent

Joseph Haynes

Welcome to Center Line Public Schools.  I have the privilege to lead a school district of approximately 2,500 students and 330 staff members. The district includes an Early Childhood Center with various preschool options, three K-5 elementary buildings, one middle school that serves grades 6-8, Center Line High School, and Academy 21, a K-12 virtual program that offers on-site labs with face-to-face teacher support.  As a proud alumnus of the Center Line Public Schools, I have watched the district programming grow, develop, and expand to meet the needs of our diverse community.

Our vision is to provide a place and a program for every student.  Led by the Strategic Planning Team goal that every student will graduate with post-secondary credit and/or industry-recognized certification, the district transformed the high school experience through the opening of the Center Line High School wall-to-wall career academies, including the Freshman Academy, the Health & Human Services Academy, and the Industry, Technology & Innovation Academy. Students select an academy and a field of study pathway that is rich in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, Advanced Placement (AP)  courses, and global offerings. It is the district’s belief that learning from early childhood to graduation should be relevant and project-based, and ensures our students are proficient in our Graduate Profile skills of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and leadership.

In 2017, our community supported a major bond project that is helping transform the district. The project includes the building of a new elementary school and early childhood center; major renovations to the other elementary buildings; upgrades to the high school that include a new track, upgrades to the auditorium and natatorium, the addition of a health clinic, and technology updates; and the renovation of “old Peck” to serve as the new home for our Academy 21 program. Details of the entire bond project can be viewed at www.clps.org/apps/pages/bond.

Center Line Public Schools is proudly accredited by NCA CASI, an accrediting division of AdvancED. Our accreditation demonstrates our dedication to continuous improvement in all that we do. We are committed to providing all students relevant and challenging learning experiences to inspire success and empower them to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Please take the time to review our website.  It contains a tremendous amount of information about all of our great schools and programs that we offer our students, including a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities such as varsity and subvarsity athletics, music, robotics, and many other clubs.

There are many great things happening at Center Line Public Schools. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learning more about our school district.  If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact any of our schools or my office.

To our current students and families, thank you for your continued support of our district and our mission to educate all.

Sincerely,
Joseph Haynes
